Orange Grove High School Becomes Emergency Landing Zone After Major Collision

In the late hours of Wednesday evening a traffic accident occurred in Live Oak County at the intersection of FM 624 and HWY 59.

According to Jim Wells County Precinct 5 Constable Gerald Arismendez, “There are several injured persons as a result of the accident that are requiring emergency medical transport to trauma centers for medical care,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

The Orange Grove Volunteer Fire Department was essential in helping prepare the area for the medical helicopters. According to Constable Arismendez, the volunteer firefighters “secured the landing zone” and made sure to keep everyone safe so the operation could be executed without any issues.

This accident highlights the risks that driving poses and serves as a reminder to always drive safely and abide by traffic laws.

The current status of those involved in the accident is unknown at the time of publication. The Gazette has reached out to the authorities for more information.
