ALICE, Texas — Firefighters from the Alice and Ben Bolt Fire Departments are currently battling a wildfire located near HWY 281 and FM 1554.

This wildfire comes just one day after the Jim Wells County Commissioners voted to extend the county-wide burn ban.

As of 4:00 pm on Saturday, the Alice Fire Department says the fire has been contained and is no longer a threat to public safety.

Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area while they continue to fight the blaze.
