Local elections are right around the corner for the Alice community. Candidates who are interested in running for city council or school board will need to file before the deadline on February 14, 2025.
The Uniform General Election is set for Tuesday, May 3, 2025. Every seat on the Alice City Council will be up for election, including the position of Mayor. Interested candidates can submit their candidate filings to City Hall, starting on January 15.
For the Alice ISD School Board, only some seats will be up for election in May. School Board Trustee Place 2, 3, 6, and 7 will be the only seats that residents can vote for this time around. School board elections typically have the same candidate deadlines as the City elections, so interested candidates can file their paperwork at Central Office, starting on January 15.
Every local position, from City Council to School Board is a non-partisan position. This means that there are no party primaries for these local races. Any candidate of any party (or no party) can run, and their party status will not be shown on the election ballot.
The last day to register to vote for the May elections will be April 3, 2025. You do not have to register again if you have not moved since you last registered to vote. Texas residents can check their voter registration status here.
