The Lady Coyotes varsity basketball team played against the Gregory-Portland Lady Wildcats in a thrilling final game of the regular season last night. It was a close match that had the audience on the edge of their seats for much of the game.

During the first quarter of the match, the Lady Coyotes trailed the Lady Wildcats by as much as 10 points. Yet despite this early deficit, the Lady Coyotes hustled to not only make up the difference, but also to keep fighting until they were ahead.

The Lady Coyotes finished the game with a final score of 43-36. This victory not only secured them the third place spot in District 29-5A, but they also qualified for the Class 5A playoffs.
The Lady Coyote varsity basketball team will have the opportunity to rise to the second place spot in District 29-5A if they defeat Corpus Christi Moody at their next game on Tuesday. Members of the community are encouraged to attend to support the Lady Coyotes.
