Ex-AISD chief financial officer sues district and superintendent for alleged discrimination

ALICE, Texas — Troy Villareal, the former Chief Financial Officer for the Alice Independent School District has filed a federal employment discrimination lawsuit against Alice ISD, Superintendent Anysia Trevino, and former board member Albert Molina.

The case was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas on April 17, 2026 according to court documents obtained by the Gazette.

The lawsuit alleges that Alice ISD and the individuals listed as defendants violated Villareal’s civil rights by discriminating against him in matters of employment.

The court case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge David S. Morales, with a pretrial conference scheduled for early July. The Gazette will follow this lawsuit closely and provide updates as they become available.

All defendants involved are presumed innocent until proven guilty or liable.
