Coyotes Fight for Hard-Earned Win in Opener

ALICE, Texas — The Alice High School varsity baseball team had their season opener tonight against the Laredo Alexander Bulldogs. It was a close game that ended with the Coyotes narrowly triumphing over the Bulldogs with a score of 3-2.

Jojo Salinas (#16) got the start on the mound for the Alice Coyotes, setting the tone early. He gave up just four hits while keeping the scoreboard clean with zero runs and two strikeouts. Jeremy Gonzalez (#6) took over in relief, but the Bulldogs managed to score two runs despite him not giving up a single hit. Closing out the night, Robert Ramirez (#8) stepped up and delivered a flawless outing, keeping the opposition hitless and scoreless while recording no strikeouts.

Offensively, the Coyotes saw contributions from Jojo Salinas, Robert Ramirez, and Manny Ramos (#15), each crossing home plate to put runs on the board. Their efforts helped keep Alice in the game, making the most of their opportunities to score.

The Alice Coyotes will play their next game against the Goliad High School Tigers. Members of the community are encouraged to attend and support the team. For location, ticketing, or other information, contact the Alice HS Athletic Department.
