Candidates Hit the Trail as Local Election Season Gets Underway

ALICE, Texas — Local election season is heating up in the Hub City. Now that the deadline to file has passed, candidates for local office are preparing for the upcoming election. We put together a list of every position that is up for election so you can be informed.

The upcoming general election on May 3 will focus on several local offices, including the Mayor, Alice City Council, and Alice ISD School Board. With the filing deadline for candidates having passed on February 14, we now know who will be seeking local office.

Candidates with an (i) next to their name denotes their status as an incumbent. This means the candidate currently holds the position and is running for re-election.

The last day to register to vote in this election is Thursday, April 3, 2025. If you have not moved since you last registered to vote, you may not need to do so again. It’s important to note that Texas does not have online voter registration.
