The Alice Coyote Varsity Soccer Team has only a few matches left in the regular season, so their parents and a former Alice HS student came together to promote the team, their accomplishments, and build anticipation through photography and a hype video.
A hype video is typically a short-form video designed to create excitement around a person or subject. In this case, the project’s goal is to promote the soccer team and their talent.
Val Chapa was the primary project lead for the hype video. Not only did they record and edit all of the footage, but they did it during an actual district match. Val is an Alice High School alumnus and graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a degree in Media Arts, with a media production emphasis. They now work for the Corpus Christi Hooks as their Ballpark Manager, after having been with the organization for several years.
Elisse Aguilera is the mom to one of the varsity players, Mr. Tike Aguilera (# 6). She is a self-described hobbyist photographer who has taken hundreds of photos for the soccer team. She promotes the team and their gameplay through her work and her photos are frequently featured in our own articles. She provides the team with invaluable evidence of their triumphs, defeats, and everything in between.
