Alice ISD Takes Steps Toward Enhanced Safety

The Alice Independent School District is in the process of installing new window wraps at campuses with glass entrances. This is part of a new safety initiative the school district is championing.

Dubose Elementary and William Adams Middle School are the two campuses that have had these window wraps installed so far, with Alice High School slated for similar installations soon.

The district says this initiative will improve campus safety by preventing outsiders from seeing inside the school. While this may seem inconsequential to many, it is just one part of a wider safety initiative the school district is implementing.

Alice High School recently announced that all students will have to display their ID badges when arriving to campus as a safety measure to ensure only students, staff, and authorized visitors are entering the school.

Campus safety has become a hot topic in recent years, as schools around the country have been hit with tragedy after tragedy. Alice ISD is hoping that these safety initiatives will keep students and faculty safe at all times on campus.
