ALICE, Texas — The Alice Independent School District has approved widespread pay raises for teachers, support staff, and administrators.
The starting salary for a teacher with Alice ISD is now $56,400. Teachers with two years of experience can expect a pay raise of $2,000, while those with 3-4 years of experience will earn an additional $4,000. For teachers that have over 5 years of experience, they can expect an $8,000 bump in their pay.
In addition to the raises for teachers, hourly employees will now earn an additional $0.75 an hour. Administrators will also receive a new 3% midpoint pay raise with this new policy.
The rise in pay makes Alice ISD more competitive as an employer, which will hopefully allow them to retain employees and reduce turnover—something the district has struggled with for years.
