Alice High School was full of pride today as the students and faculty celebrated school athletes and their athletic achievements thus-far.

The day began with a celebration and send-off for the Alice HS Swim Team UIL state qualifiers. The team was honored with a drum line parade followed by a session for team photos. After the team was celebrated and took pictures with their friends and family, they were greeted to a red carpet send-off.

Ayden Galvan, Wesley McIntyre, Jojo Salinas, Jason Molina, and alternant Nicholas DeLeon were the state qualifiers who were celebrated at this morning’s festivities.

Shortly following the morning’s celebrations, faculty and students came together to recognize the Alice HS Unified Basketball Team. The team qualified for regionals after dominating in district and area competitions.

As the first Unified team at Alice HS, they are making history for the program and setting the bar high for years to come.

The team was honored with a drum line parade and red carpet send-off as they head out to represent the Alice community at the UIL South Regional Basketball Championship at Ray High School. They will face-off against Hanna High School from Brownsville.
