ALICE, Texas — In the past three years Alice has welcomed a variety of new businesses and developments in town. This economic trend is a boom for the city as the state and country face difficult economic times.

The Alice community and economy have proven to be resilient during difficult times and it looks like city and business leaders have found success in promoting sustainable economic growth. Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, Wendy’s, and Stripes are just a few nationwide companies that have opened up franchises and locations in Alice over the past three years.

Dollar General has also expanded its presence in the city, opening two new locations including a DG Market that offers grocery items in addition to their traditional products. The addition of these businesses provides residents with more choice and convenience for food, household items, and more.

The growth in Alice is truly a rare sight in today’s economy, as small towns have typically seen their economies dry up as inflation squeezes consumers and business owners alike. Alice residents have been spared from some of the worst effects of economic downturns. Hopefully the community’s economy is resilient enough to survive tariffs and other uncertainty, as it has weathered inflation successfully thus far.
